Cyber Security
Hello! My name is Isaac Barrios and I am currently developing my cyber security skills and I'd like to bring you along on my journey to cybersecurity mastery. I have work experience outside of the Information Technology sector and I am using those skills to supplement the knowledge I am learning as a self-studying professional looking to break into the Cybersecurity industry.
MY background
I am a seasoned professional of the food industry and an experienced office worker. I was a manager at a boba shop where I trained 20+ employees. I then pursued a career in accounting and worked in the indirect tax department of a global company. Eventually, I realized my calling was with computers and have since pivoted into the wonderful world of I.T., IOT, networking, cloud, and automation. :)
MY Experience
What are my skills?
Cyber Defense
Currently studying up on my blue team skills. Really enjoying online resources, and have developed a familiarity with SIEM's and packet tracking analysis. Interested in taking my skills into a SOC Analyst role.
IT Helpdesk Support
Some experience with troubleshooting (both computers and mobile devices) and usage of ticketing systems. Plenty of experience in customer service and talking to customers and communicating with co-workers.
Knowledge of Multiple OS's
While I have grown up all my life using Windows, I have recently dove head first into the world of Linux and the command line style of navigation. Have utilized both Ubuntu and Kali Linux distros.
Exposure to GRC
Currently taking a class based on the white team side of cybersecurity.
